Terms, Conditions, and Official Rules

Campaign Overview

  1. Purpose of Campaign:
    • The Creative Visions #CreateConnectCare Campaign aims to inspire youth to use storytelling and creative action to raise awareness about mental health and well-being, turn the tide against mental health stigma, and promote the importance of self-care and building caring connections that foster well-being.

Deadlines and Entry

  1. Submission Deadline:
    • Entries must be received by Monday, March 31, 2025, at 11:59 a.m. PST to be eligible to win.
  2. How to Enter:
    • Submit an entry through the online entry form at www.createconnectcare.org/submit. To be eligible, the entry must fulfill all campaign requirements as specified. Incomplete entries or those not adhering to the rules may be disqualified.
  3. Accepted File Types:
    • The accepted file types for attachments are MP4, MOV, JPG, PNG, GIF, DOC, DOCX, and PDF. All entries must be submitted online; no hand-delivered or mailed entries will be accepted.

Eligibility

  1. Age Eligibility:
    • Open to youth ages 11-18 worldwide. An online guardian-signed consent form must accompany entries from youth under 13.
  2. Geographical Eligibility:
    • Open to all youth worldwide, independent of where they reside.
  3. Other Eligibility:
    • Open to all youth regardless of race, religion, gender, or sexual preference.
  4. Cost to Enter:
    • The campaign is free to enter, with no purchase necessary.
  5. Limit of Entries per Person:
    • Participants may submit in multiple categories, with each piece of artwork submitted as a separate entry using the online submission form.

Submission Requirements

  1. Theme:
    • All submissions must focus on the campaign’s main theme of youth mental health and well-being.
  2. Types of Expression:
    • Literary, Performing, Visual, or Media Art, and STEM. Subcategories include drawing, painting, photography, collage, dance, song, short story, essay, poetry, spoken word, and more.
  3. Accepted Sizes and Length:
    • Literary Arts: Maximum 1,000 words.
    • Visual Arts: Various formats accepted.
    • Media Arts: Maximum three minutes.
  4. Prohibited Content:
    • Content must be appropriate for all ages. Inappropriate language or content and politically charged content are strictly prohibited.

Awards and Recognition

  1. For Youth:
    • Creative Changemaker Award: Recognizes exceptional creativity, innovation, and a deep understanding of youth mental health and well-being. $500 award for one student in each of the three age groups.
    • Visionary Spark Award: Celebrates work that offers a fresh and innovative perspective on youth mental health and well-being. $250 award for 15 outstanding submissions (one per medium area in each age group).
    • Imagination Catalyst Award: Recognizes work demonstrating a creative and thoughtful approach to addressing youth mental health and well-being. $150 award for 15 inspiring submissions (one per medium area in each age category).
  2. For Educators:
    • Champion Awards: This $500 award recognizes three educators who have demonstrated exceptional support and encouragement for their students’ participation.
  3. Participant Recognition Awards:
    • Selected submissions will be shared through social media, art displays, events, websites, and Creative Visions. Special recognition in specific categories will be announced in May 2025.
    • Digital certificates of participation will be sent to those with valid email addresses.
    • Moleskine Creativity Journals for the first 500 entrants (US Only) who provide a valid mailing address.
  4. Awards Notification:
    • Awardees will be notified by email. Creative Visions is not responsible for awardees’ failure to receive notices due to spam, junk email, or other security settings.
  5. Acceptance of Awards:
    • Awardees must comply with all instructions in the email notification within the timeframe specified to claim their awards. Failure to respond within the specified timeframe may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate awardee.
  6. Announcement of Awardees:
    • Awardees’ names will be published on the campaign website and social media channels following notification and acceptance.
  7. Payment of Cash Recognition:
    • Prizes are awarded in US dollars and will be paid electronically. Prizes may be subject to taxes. Creative Visions reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or modify the campaign for any reason and to withhold cash recognition if no submissions meet the award criteria.

Judging Criteria

  1. All eligible entries will be evaluated based on:
    • Creativity (25%): Exceptional skill and focus within the medium, evoking an emotional response and offering a fresh perspective.
    • Adherence to Campaign Focus Areas (25%): Support, elaboration, and connection to one of the campaign’s focus areas.
    • Engagement and Impact (25%): Potential to raise awareness, initiate conversations, or spark further action on mental health issues.
    • Statement About the Work (25%): Clarity in expressing ideas represented in the creative expression, conveying what the creator wants the audience to think, feel, or do.
  2. Disqualification:
    • Creative Visions reserves the right to disqualify any entry that it deems to be inappropriate, non-compliant with the rules, or infringing on intellectual property rights.
  3. Judges’ Decisions:
    • All judges’ decisions are final and binding. No correspondence or discussion will be entered into regarding the judging process or any outcomes reached.
  4. Tie-Breaker:
    • In the event of a tie, the entry with the higher score in the Creativity category will be selected as the awardee. If a tie still exists, the entry with the higher score in the Engagement and Impact category will be chosen.

Usage and Rights

  1. Usage:
    • Submissions grant Creative Visions the right to publish the artwork without compensation in various formats, including physical presentations, websites, social media, and print media.
  2. Rights Granted by Participants:
    • By entering artwork and content (e.g., photo, video, text, information, etc.), participants grant Creative Visions and its licensees, successors, and assigns the right to use the entry for promotional purposes in any media now known or hereafter developed, in perpetuity and throughout the world, without compensation, notice, review, or consent.
  3. Ownership of Work:
    • Applicants retain ownership and the right to their work and may publish and submit it to other challenges, provided the permissions and rights granted to Creative Visions remain intact.
  4. Original Work:
    • Participants represent and warrant that their entry is original and does not violate any third party’s proprietary or intellectual property rights. If an entry infringes upon another’s intellectual property, it will be disqualified. Participants shall indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Creative Visions from any claims arising from such infringement.
  5. Termination of Campaign:
    • Creative Visions reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the campaign any time.

Legal and Dispute Resolution

  1. Limitation of Liability:
    • By entering, participants agree to release and hold harmless Creative Visions and its affiliates from any liability, claims, or damages arising from participation in the campaign or acceptance of any prize.
  2. Disputes:
    • The laws of the United States of America and the state of California govern the campaign. Disputes shall be resolved individually before a court in California without resorting to class action. Participants waive all rights to punitive, incidental, or consequential damages and attorney’s fees.
  3. Agreement to Rules:
    • By participating, participants agree to be fully and unconditionally bound by these rules and represent that they meet the eligibility requirements. The decisions of Creative Visions are final and binding.
  4. Applicable Laws:
    • The campaign is subject to federal, state, and local laws and regulations. It is void where prohibited.
